Warranty

  • Be My Window Inc. Exterior Doors warrants that its door systems shall be free from defects in workmanship and materials when used under normal residential conditions and properly installed and maintained.

Steel Doors

  • Be My Window Inc., at its sole discretion, shall repair or replace any White Polytech 24-gauge steel door that warps, rusts, or delaminates under normal residential use for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase.

Fiberglass Doors

  • This Limited Lifetime Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.
  • Be My Window Inc., at its sole discretion, shall repair or replace any fiberglass door found to be defective within the meaning of this warranty.
  • Claims for rehanging, refinishing, labour, or other incidental or consequential expenses are expressly excluded.
  • Thickness, width, and height tolerances from nominal sizes shall not exceed ± 1/4 inch.
  • For doors measuring 3’0” x 6’8” or smaller, deformation (bow, cup, twist, or warp) shall not be considered a defect unless it exceeds 1/4 inch in the plane of the door.
    Doors exceeding 7’0” in height shall not exceed 3/8 inch warp when measured in accordance with recognized industry standards.

Painted Doors

• All painted door systems are warranted under normal residential conditions for a period of five (5) years against weathering, including peeling, cracking, blistering, or significant ultraviolet discoloration exceeding six (6) Delta E units, caused solely by natural atmospheric exposure.

Cosmetic Inspection & Industry Tolerances

  • Minor cosmetic imperfections, variations, or surface characteristics that are not readily visible from a distance of six (6) feet, when inspected from a normal standing position under normal viewing and lighting conditions, do not constitute defects and are excluded from warranty coverage. Such conditions are considered acceptable within recognized industry standards and manufacturing tolerances. All determinations regarding defect classification, visibility, severity, and warranty applicability shall be made solely at the discretion of Be My Window Inc., and such determinations shall be final and binding.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, including but not limited to door sweepers and weather stripping.
  • Issues arising from improper installation, water or air infiltration, building design flaws, or structural deficiencies.
  • Structural or operational issues resulting from improper hardware installation or incorrect sizing.
  • Condensation or excessive ice build-up.
  • Damage caused by accessories affixed to the door, including wreaths, knockers, numbers, peepholes, or decorative items.
  • Damage caused by pressure washing, which shall render this warranty void.
  • Economic loss, including loss of use, inconvenience, or indirect or consequential damages.
  • Door systems with storm doors installed, due to excessive heat buildup.
  • Fiberglass door systems of any size, or steel door systems exceeding 6’8” in height, that are not equipped with a multipoint locking system.
  • Variations in fiberglass stain colour relative to brochure or sample representations.
  • Misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, use of harmful solvents, acts of nature, fire, flood, or third-party actions.
  • Products that have been altered, repaired, or modified by anyone other than an authorized representative of Be My Window Inc.
  • Repairs for products located more than 100 km from the manufacturing facility unless prior travel cost arrangements have been agreed upon in writing.

Warranty Claim Policy

  • All warranty claims must be submitted in writing and include the original invoice number and a description of the concern.
  • Warranty-related service after two (2) years from the date of purchase shall be chargeable at $95 per hour per technician.
  • Jobs requiring two technicians shall be billed at $190 per hour.

Inspection Rights

Be My Window Inc. reserves the right to inspect any product subject to a warranty claim within sixty (60) days prior to authorizing repair or replacement.

In the event of a warranty claim, Be My Window Inc. reserves the right to inspect the product within (60) days of the claim and prior to authorizing or approving
any warranty repairs or replacements. All warranty claims for products installed in new homes will be inspected and repaired in compliance with (Tarion) Ontario
New Home Warranty Program.
